. Ube mgba (canarium) is a small bluish purple drupe  hard edible fruit with a solid seed.

This fruits canarium, has similar features with the native pear decryodes edulis.

Canarium is more harder and requires intense process to get softened.

Ripe ones are picked  from the tree and soaked in warm water then left for two to three days to soften before consumption.

On like the native pear( Dacryodes edulis), it can be soften immediately by  either putting it in the mouth, soaking it in hot water or roasting for few minutes
